Offline is the normal case
Fields do not have reliable signal. Every play a scorekeeper records is written to the device first and synced afterwards, in order, without duplicates. A dead connection costs nothing.
Calibrated to your league
Slow-pitch softball scores several times more runs per plate appearance than professional baseball. Borrowed constants would put an average hitter well off average. Run values here are derived from your league's own scoring, so 100 wRC+ really is your league average.
